When a virus enters a computer, the operating system often becomes very slow or does not start at all. In such cases, it is impossible to use an antivirus program to find and remove the virus. Then you need to boot the operating system in safe mode, and only then use the antivirus.

Instructions
Step 1
Start the computer, press the F8 key at boot time, sometimes as an alternative to F5 or F12. A menu for selecting options for loading the operating system appears. Select the "Safe Mode" option.
Step 2
The system will boot into Safe Mode. In some cases, this Windows boot process can take a very long time. Do not press any keys during this time. After Windows boots up, you will see a black screen and a warning that the operating system is in safe mode, while some functions may be blocked.
Step 3
See if the antivirus has loaded in Safe Mode automatically. If not, start it manually. To do this, select the Computer scan component from the antivirus program menu. Please note that the process of scanning your computer in safe mode is not available on all antiviruses. In the scan targets menu, select all hard disk partitions, as well as all connected flash drives, if any.
Step 4
The computer scan process begins. Do not take any action during this time. Be sure to wait until the scan of your computer is complete.
Step 5
If the antivirus was able to detect malicious programs, a list of actions that need to be taken to them will appear. Files with malware do not need to be completely removed from your computer. These may include the files you need. Select the Quarantine action. Delete files that cannot be quarantined from your computer.
Step 6
Restart your computer in normal mode. If the viruses are isolated, the system should work normally. Go to the antivirus menu and select "Utilities" and the "Quarantine" tab. See what files are there. If the files you need are not there, select the "Clear Quarantine" command.
