Often, when working in Microsoft Office, users, for some reason, forget or do not have time to save the file they have just worked on, and information is lost when the unsaved document is closed. If you did not save the file and closed the program, it does not mean that all your work was lost - an unsaved file in Microsoft Office can be restored.
Instructions
Step 1
For document recovery, Office provides a function that allows you to restore a file from a backup that runs regularly at regular intervals while you are working on a file. Accordingly, you can run the last autosaved version of your document.
Step 2
This function will be available if the "Autosave every … minutes" parameter is set in your program. You also need to enable the option in the settings "Keep the last autosaved version if the file was closed without saving."
Step 3
Enable these functions and then, if you accidentally close the file without saving, you can easily restore the last of its versions remembered by the program.
Step 4
Open a Microsoft Office application in which you did not have time to save the previous file (for example, Word or Excel), and then open the File menu and select the Recent Files option. Then select the option "Recover unsaved documents" or "Recover unsaved books" from the list.
Step 5
In Power Point, the program will prompt you to recover unsaved presentations. A new window will open where you will see the auto-saved drafts. Select the appropriate file and open it, and then select the "Save As" option from the menu.
Step 6
Alternatively, you can restore a file by choosing Details from the File menu and then Version Control. In the window that opens, click on the button for recovering unsaved documents.
