The solution to the problem of recovering an unsaved document can be conditionally divided into two methods, depending on whether the document was accidentally closed by the user himself, or an unexpected termination of the office application occurred.
Necessary
Microsoft Office 2010
Instructions
Step 1
If an office application that is part of the Microsoft Office 2010 package terminates unexpectedly, wait until the Document Recovery task pane appears. Up to three files can be saved in this area, which can be restored by the user.
Step 2
Open the link with the arrow symbol next to the required document in the recovery window and specify the desired action: - "Open" - to view the latest version of the document; - "Save as" - to change the name or version of the required file; - "Delete" - to clean up the catalog of recovered documents. Save the recovered document.
Step 3
If the user accidentally closes the document without first saving it, open the main menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" section. Expand Microsoft Office 2010 and run the application in which the closed file was created.
Step 4
Call the "File" menu of the upper service panel of the selected application window and select the "Recent files" command. Specify a sub-item: - "Recover unsaved documents" - for files created in Word; - "Recover unsaved workbooks" - for files created in Excel; - "Recover unsaved presentations" - for files created in PowerPoint.
Step 5
Find the document to be restored in the directory of the dialog box that opens and use the "Open" command. Save the recovered file using the "Save As" command in the upper service panel of the office application window.
Step 6
An alternative method is to create a new document in the desired office application. Then open the "File" menu and select "Details". Use the Version Control command and specify one of the above commands according to the application you are using. Find the required document in the catalog and use the "Open" command. Save the recovered file.
