Quite often in photographs, due to the movement of objects in the frame or shaking of the operator's hands, areas of an indistinct image appear. Today, the quality of such images can be significantly improved through digital processing. You can remove blur from a photo in Adobe Photoshop, a powerful graphics editor.

Instructions
Step 1
Load the image containing the blurred areas you want to remove into Adobe Photoshop. Press Ctrl + O on the keyboard or select the "Open …" item in the File section of the main application menu. In the Open dialog open the directory with the desired file. Highlight it in the list. Click on the "Open" button.
Step 2
Get ready for work. Set a convenient viewing scale using the Zoom Tool or by entering exact values into the text field located in the status bar. If you want to remove blur only from a part of the image, without affecting other parts, create a selection area around it.
Step 3
Use the Sharpen Tool to make spot adjustments to small, slightly blurred areas. Activate it, and then select a brush with a suitable diameter and hardness by clicking on the Brush control in the top panel. Paint over the blurred areas of the image until you achieve the desired result.
Step 4
Use one of the simple sharpening filters. In the Filter section of the main menu, highlight Sharpen. Choose Sharpen, Sharpen More, or Sharpen Edges. The first two filters sharpen the entire image (while Sharpen More does this to a greater extent), and the last one - at the edges of dissimilar areas.
Step 5
Weaken the applied sharpening filter if the effect is too strong. Press Ctrl + Shift + F or choose Edit and Fade from the menu. Decrease the Opacity value in the dialog that appears and click OK.
Step 6
Apply a Smart Sharpen filter to remove a known type of blur. Select the appropriate item in the Sharpen section of the Filter menu. The dialog for configuring the work parameters will be displayed. In the Remove drop-down list, specify the type of blur (for example, Motion Blur, if it is caused by the movement of an object). Adjust the Amount, Radius and Angle values (if necessary) so that the image is as clear as possible. Click OK.
Step 7
Start removing the blur by overlaying a copy of the High Pass image. Duplicate the current layer. Select Layer and "Duplicate Layer …" from the menu. Click OK in the dialog that appears. Select Filter, Other and High Pass… from the menu. In the Radius field, set a value slightly larger than the width of the blur areas. Click OK.
Step 8
Change the blending mode of the layer with the image to which the filter was applied. Click on the drop-down list located in the Layers panel. Select Overlay.
Step 9
Save the processed image. Press Ctrl + S if you want to overwrite the original file. Press Ctrl + Shift + S if you want to save a copy. In the second case, enter a new file name, specify its type and storage directory, click the "Save" button.
