When the editor is multifunctional, it is comfortable to work in it - no need to run unnecessary programs. In the Microsoft Office Word application, you can, without leaving the editor, not only format the text, but also work with tables. Word tools allow the user to edit tables at their own discretion and in any convenient way. In particular, you can add a row to a table in a document in different ways.
Instructions
Step 1
First, create a table by splitting it into the required number of columns. To do this, in a Microsoft Office Word document go to the "Insert" tab and in the "Table" section click on the thumbnail with the same name. In the drop-down menu, use the layout to specify the structure of the table by marking the required number of rows and columns, or select the "Insert Table" command and in the dialog box that opens, specify the values you need. To draw a table yourself directly in the document using the mouse, select the Draw Table command. The mouse cursor changes to a pencil. Draw the outlines of the table, and then break the drawn rectangle with horizontal and vertical lines.
Step 2
Now, to add a row to the table, draw a "pencil" between the two horizontal lines in the part of the table where you want to add the row. An unlimited number of lines can be added in this way. When using the tool for drawing a table, the additional tab "Working with tables" becomes active. When you add the required number of lines, click in the "Design" section on the "Draw Table" button so that the cursor will change again from "pencil" to normal.
Step 3
To add a specified number of rows, go to the Table Tools tab. To do this, use the "Draw Table" command from the "Insert" tab or place the cursor anywhere in the table. Click the Layout tab. Select with the mouse (completely) one or more rows and click on the "Split cells" button in the "Merge" section. In the dialog box that opens, specify the number of lines you want to add. In the Number of Columns field, enter a value equal to the number of columns you have. Click OK. Adjust the size of the columns if they get confused when inserting. To do this, move the mouse cursor to the vertical face and wait until the cursor changes to an icon. Move the faces in the desired direction while holding down the left mouse button.
Step 4
To insert one line from the Layout tab, position the cursor on the line after which you want to add another line. Click on the Insert Bottom button in the Rows and Columns section. To insert a line on top, click on the "Insert on top" button accordingly. If in your table you select two (three, four) rows and click on the "Insert on top" (bottom) button, you will have two (three, four) rows added in the specified direction. The number of added rows will be equal to the number of selected rows in the table.
