Photoshop is an excellent program for working with raster graphics, which, unfortunately, does not spoil Russian-speaking users with beautiful Cyrillic fonts. Fortunately, there are many services where you can find these fonts. And a new question arises - how to add a font to Photoshop?

Using standard Windows tools

Perhaps this method can be called today one of the most common and simplest. In order to add a font to the program using windows fonts, you need to download any font you like, go to the control panel on your computer and find the "Fonts" category there.

After opening it, the user will see a list of those fonts that are currently available to him in any program that works with text. To add a new font, you just need to drag it from the Downloads folder into the font window, after unpacking it.

An important point: while dragging and loading a font, the Windows system window will appear, in which the real name of the font will be indicated. It is by this name that it can be found in Photoshop.

If this method does not work for any reason, instead of adding the font to the shared directory, click on the "File" menu and select the "Install Font" item there. After that, an explorer window will appear with a proposal to mark the font that you want to select. All that remains for the user is to find the font and confirm their actions.

You can also add your favorite fonts in the program itself, but you need to do this only if it is running. It's easy to do - just click on the "text tool" and when a window with all available fonts and their samples appears, drag the font downloaded from the Internet resource with the mouse.

After completing all these steps, the user can safely start creating and processing text with your favorite font. It is important to remember that during the execution of this entire process, the "text tool" window must be in an open state.

If all else fails

There is another way to add a font to Photoshop, but since it is more complex (compared to others), it is recommended to use it only if no other methods have yielded results.

The essence of this method is to copy the font downloaded from the site directly to the folder with the installed graphics editor. To do this, the user needs to find the "Fonts" folder, which is located in the following directory: "Program Files / Common Files / Adobe" on the disk with the installed program. Depending on the bitness of the operating system, instead of "Program Files" there may be a folder "Program Files (x86)".

Having opened the folder with fonts, the user can only drag the downloaded font there in any way convenient for him. And after that, you can turn on the program and use the new fonts.
