When it becomes necessary to create a local network in which computers and laptops can exchange information with each other and access the Internet, it is recommended to use a router (router).
It is necessary
- - Wi-Fi router;
- - network cables.
Instructions
Step 1
If you plan to create a combined local area network, which will include laptops and desktops, then purchase a device with Wi-Fi support.
Step 2
Connect the Wi-Fi router to the mains. Turn on this device. Locate the Ethernet (LAN) port on its case and connect it to the network adapter of your desktop computer or laptop. To the Internet port (DSL, WAN), in turn, connect the Internet connection cable.
Step 3
Turn on the equipment connected to the Wi-Fi router. Launch your browser. Fill in the address line of the Wi-Fi router's IP addresses to enter the web browser interface.
Step 4
Open the Internet Setup menu. Fill in this menu with the required values to provide the router with a connection to the provider's server. Find the Enable NAT item and set the yes parameter next to it.
Step 5
This is necessary so that laptops and computers connected to the router can receive an IP address from a specific list of ranges when accessing the Internet. Save the settings for this menu.
Step 6
Open the Wireless Settings menu. Create a wireless access point. If the capabilities of this Wi-Fi router allow you to create a mixed type of radio signal transmission (802.11n / g / b mixed), then enable this function.
Step 7
Save the specified settings. Reboot your Wi-Fi router. Sometimes this requires disconnecting the equipment from the mains for a short period of time.
Step 8
Connect all stationary computers to the Ethernet (LAN) channels of the Wi-Fi router. Connect laptops and other Wi-Fi capable devices to a wireless hotspot.
