Step 1
To open the BIOS, press Del after turning on the computer and before the operating system starts loading. You may need to press a different key to enter the BIOS on your computer. In the lower left corner when checking the RAM there is an inscription Press Del to enter setup. If another key is written instead of Del, press it.
Step 2
The BIOS window opens. You need to manage in the BIOS with the arrows and the Enter and Esc keys. The main parameters for the hardware: Disabled - disable, Enabled - use. BIOS versions and directory names may vary depending on the manufacturer and model. The most common names are listed below.
Step 3
In the Advanced menu (Advanced BIOS features), the USB controller is prohibited or used under the USB Functions command (USB Controller / USB Ports / USB Device / Integrated (OnChip) USB Controller). Enabled / Disabled command - enables / disables all USB ports, Both - makes all ports available, Primary - only ports on the rear panel are available. 2/4/6/8 USB Ports - the number of ports available for operation.
Step 4
USB 2.0 Controller (High Speed USB / USB 2.0 Supports / USB 2.0 Device). Option to prohibit or allow the use of USB 2.0. USB 1.1 / 2.0 Controller item for using all USB controllers, commands: All Disabled - disable everything, All Enabled - enable everything.
Step 5
USB Speed. Option that changes the operating frequency of the USB bus. Its parameters are 24 MHz and 48 MHz.
Step 6
Legacy USB Support (USB Device / USB Driver Select / USB Function to DOS / USB Keyboard (Mouse) Support). BIOS-level USB keyboard / mouse support section. Enabled / Disabled command - enables / disables support, Auto - disables standard keyboard / mouse when USB devices are connected and vice versa, OS - support by the operating system, BIOS - support BIOS of the motherboard.
Step 7
Port 64/60 Emulation (USB 1.1 64/60 Emulation) - an option for optimizing devices connected to the USB port in legacy OS. Enabled / Disabled command - enables / disables. Emulation Type (UFDDA USB Floppy / UFDDB USB Floppy / USB Mass Storage Emulation Type / USB Mass Storage Device Boot Setting) - for different values of the option, the USB drive is emulated in Auto mode - automatically detected, Floppy (FDD Mode or USB Floppy) - as removable media, Forced FDD - like a floppy disk, Hard Disk (HDD Mode or USB HDD) - like a hard disk, CDROM - like an optical drive.
Step 8
To boot the OS from a USB stick, go to the Boot menu (or find First Boot Device in Advanced BIOS features). In the Boot Device Priority section, select 1st Boot Device, then check the box next to the name of your device, or opposite the USB-HDD item.
Step 9
To save the settings, go to the main BIOS menu and select the Save & Exit item or press the key corresponding to this command (usually F10).
