BIOS is the main program in your computer that allows you to configure, connect, and disconnect devices. If you have an integrated video card, and you bought a new one, or your new one is broken and you need to enable the built-in one, you need to go into the BIOS and change some settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Variety of BIOS, like any other program, differ in version and manufacturer. However, the essence of the content and method of operation are identical in all BIOSes. To enter the I / O system, you must press Del after rebooting, before loading the operating system from the hard disk. Sometimes you need to press another key - see the hint at the bottom of the screen while testing the RAM: Press Del to enter setup. If instead of Del, another key or a combination of them is written, press it.
Step 2
The BIOS settings window will open. Look for different tabs to change this or that setting. The value of the maximum size of the RAM used for storing textures is located in the AGP Aperture Size tab (or AGP Aperture Size (MB) / AGP Graphics Aperture Size / Aperture Size / Aperture Size Select / Graphics Aperture Size / Graphics Win Size / Graphics Windows Size / IGD Aperture Size). Values in the tab: 32, 64, 128, 256 (in older versions it is possible: 4, 8, 16).
Step 3
To synchronize the colors of the video card and images captured using the video editing card, use the Palette Snooping tab (PCI VGA Palette Snoop / PCI (VGA) Palette Snoop). If the colors are not displaying correctly, set it to Enabled.
Step 4
Video cards require a dedicated interrupt, this option can be enabled in the Allocate IRQ for PCI VGA tab (Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA / Assign IRQ For VGA). If there are not enough free interrupts, disable by moving the value to Disabled. It is better to leave this option enabled in the Enabled position.
Step 5
You can specify the amount of system memory required for the integrated graphics core of the chipset in the Display Cache Window Size (Frame Buffer Size / Int. Gfx Memory Size Select / Internal Graphic Mode Select / Internal Graphics Mode Select / On-Chip Frame Buffer Size / On-Chip Video Window Size / Onboard VGA Frame Buffer / Onboard Video Memory Size / Share Memory Size / System Share Memory Size / UMA Frame Buffer Size / VGA Share Memory Size). For correct operation, it is recommended to set a value similar to AGP Aperture Size.
Step 6
Settings for the graphics core DVMT can be done in the tabs: DVMT; DVMT 4.0 Mode; DVMT Mode; DVMT Mode Select; FIXED Memory Size; DVMT Memory Size; DVMT / FIXED Memory; DVMT / FIXED Memory Size; IGD DVMT / Fixed Memory.
Step 7
You can specify the frequency of the AIMM module in the tabs: Display Cache Frequency; CAS # Latency; Paging Mode Control; RAS-to-CAS Override; RAS # Timing; RAS # Precharge Timing. Values: 100MHz, 133MHz.
