Summer comes every year. Everyone gets hot, including computers. Only unlike a human being, it is possible to install additional cooling in a computer, in particular, to install one or several coolers. They provide an additional flow of cold air into the system unit and the removal of hot air from it.

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to determine where and which fans should be installed. To do this, remove the housing covers and inspect it for ventilation holes. Most often they are located on the front and rear panels of the case. Measure the distance between two adjacent holes for mounting the cooler (they are located "square", you need to measure its side). With the measurement results, go to the store and buy the required fan.

Step 2

Note if the motherboard has a free 3-pin fan connector. Where it is located, you can find out from the instructions for the motherboard, in the diagram it is usually called "System Fan". Depending on the board model, these connectors can be from one to five. If there is no free connector, you need to buy a fan with a direct connection to the power supply or equipped with an appropriate adapter.

Step 3

On the side surface of the cooler there are markings indicating the direction of rotation of the blades and air flow. Coolers are installed on the front panel "for blowing", and on the back - "for blowing". Attach the cooler to its place from the inside of the case and fix it with the self-tapping screws that come with it. Sometimes, instead of screws, the kit includes silicone "pins", with them the fastening procedure is even easier, and they prevent the transmission of vibration from the cooler to the case.

Step 4

Connect the cooler cable to the power connector (on the motherboard or directly to the power supply). Turn on your computer and check if the new coolers spin, and if so, which way. To do this, bring a thin strip of paper to them, do not climb into a running fan with your fingers. Close and secure the housing covers carefully.
