A RAW file system is an entry in the properties of a logical disk that prevents it from opening or requires formatting. This happens when the structure of the file system is destroyed, for example, such as FAT or NTFS. At the same time, RAW is not a type of file system (FS) of a logical disk. The RAW file system cannot be converted to NTFS, but all files stored on the disk can be easily restored.

file recovery software
Instructions
Step 1
Determine if the file system has actually become RAW. To do this, go to "My Computer", click on the disk icon with the right mouse button, select the "Properties" drop-down menu item.
Step 2
Look what is written in the lines "type" and "file system". If the type is Local Disk and the file system is RAW, it means that your disk needs to be recovered. To recover, you need to use file recovery programs such as Easy Recovery Pro, File Recovery Pro, Recover4all Professional, RecoverMyFiles, Recuva and various other programs. Note that the RAW file system is blocking access to the disk structure due to incorrect geometry values of the logical partition in the partition table, partial corruption in the boot sector of the file system, or due to the destruction of the structure of the MFT master file table. In this case, all stored files are not deleted from the disk if it is not formatted. If, nevertheless, the formatting was performed, it is necessary to use the deep recovery method when restoring.
Step 3
Install the file recovery software on your computer. For a quick shallow recovery, it is recommended to use a simple program such as Recuva. If they fail, then you need to use professional software.
Step 4
Select the disk you need to recover in the program. Select "find all deleted files" and wait while the program finds all deleted files.
Step 5
Select the "restore all" menu item and then select a folder to restore. It must be located on any disk other than the one being restored.
Step 6
Wait until the file recovery is completed, then open the folder and sort the recovered files into directories. To work with images, a program can help, which performs sorting by exif-records in a graphic file. Sorted by the date the picture was taken.
