Deleting a virtual disk that is used in computer operation from the registry can damage the system and cause data loss. Before deleting a virtual disk, check and make sure that no iSCSI target requires access to it, no application is using the virtual disk, and that all information is safely saved.
Instructions
Step 1
Deleting a virtual disk from the console does not delete its file. If you need to delete the virtual disk that you want to delete, and you need to save the information it contains, you can manually delete the virtual disk (VHD) file from your computer. Also, if necessary, you can simply turn off the virtual disk for a while.
Step 2
Remove a virtual disk from the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target Console. Let's say you want to delete the console virtual disk of a Microsoft iSCSI software target. To do this, we need to go through the following steps:
In the Microsoft iSCSI console tree, select Devices.
In the results pane, right-click the virtual disk you want to delete and select Delete Virtual Disk.
Press the "Yes" button to confirm the deletion.
Step 3
To accomplish these tasks, you must be a member of the local Administrators group.
To open the iSCSI Target Application component, go to the Start menu and then go to the Administrative Tools item.
Make your selection under Microsoft iSCSI Target Applications.
Step 4
There is another way to open the iSCSI Soft Target component: to do this, you need to click the Start button, select Run, and enter iscsitarget.msc.
Step 5
There are also other programs for removing discs, such as Alcohol 120%, Nero. Which one to use is up to you, but you need to choose the program with which the virtual disk was created, which you want to delete.
