Each major update to Internet Explorer, along with significant browser improvements, leads to various inconsistencies with the standards used in the previous version. Internet Explorer 9 is no exception, but in this version of the browser, manufacturers have provided the ability to switch page views to compatibility with previous versions.

Instructions
Step 1
Start Internet Explorer. If there is no shortcut for this program on the desktop, then open the OS main menu and type the name of the application in the search field. However, three ints will suffice for the link to launch the web browser to appear in the first line of search results. Click it.

Expand the "Service" section in the browser menu. If the menu is not displayed in the application window, press the Alt key. It will appear under the title bar of the window. In the "Tools" section, select the most complicated item - "Compatibility View Mode Options".

Check the box next to the "Display all websites in compatibility view mode" when the window with the settings for this mode appears on the screen. In this way, you enable the "hardest" version of the compatibility mode - the browser will use it for all pages, even those that do not need it.
Step 4
If you select the Add updated site lists from Microsoft Web site check box, Compatibility Mode will only be enabled for sites known to be incompatible with this version of the browser to Microsoft.
Step 5
You can also create your own list of sites to which this mode should be applied, entering into it all the pages you encounter that are displayed with distortion. You can do this using the field under the "Add this website" and the "Add" button.
Step 6
Click the Close button on the dialog to let Internet Explorer start using the settings you changed.

There is another, easier option to enable compatibility mode at the right time. When the browser opens another page, it tries to evaluate its compatibility itself. If, in his opinion, the activation of this mode is required for normal display, an icon with a stylized image of a page torn in half appears in the address bar. Left-click this icon and your web browser will activate Compatibility Mode and also change the icon color from white-gray to blue-cyan.
