To make certain changes to the game, there are special utilities - patches that automatically replace certain system files, thereby ensuring the performance of certain functions. You can find them on the Internet.

Instructions
Step 1
Download the patch for your game from the Internet. It is best to search through thematic forums that contain feedback from users who have previously encountered this patch.
Step 2
Please note that some of them may apply to all versions of the game, and some are designed specifically for the next one. Many are also developed for a specific release. Be sure to find out information regarding the purpose of the patch and the changes that occur after its use.
Step 3
After downloading, check the unpacked file for viruses. If there is a Read Me file in the archive, carefully read its contents. Close the game you downloaded the patch for. Double click on the file to run it. Select the directory according to the purpose of the patch.
Step 4
Usually, to make changes to the game, you need to select one of the folders in Games or Program Files, followed by a directory with the name of the developer company or the name of the game, then select in the subfolders those folders whose system files are to be replaced. Typically, the path is specified in the Read Me file or on the download page. After you select one of the folders, click “OK” and “Patch”, wait until the files are replaced.
Step 5
Start the game and check the changes made. It is recommended to make a backup copy of the working configuration before installing the patch, having previously saved the folder with the files to be changed in the user's documents.
Step 6
If after installing the patch, the game does not start or you have certain problems, roll back the changes by deleting the folder with the patched files and replacing the one that was earlier in its place. The Windows Restore utility is not relevant here, so consider rolling back the changes using alternative methods.
