A cache is a temporary storage of files that the browser organizes for its needs on the user's computer. In the process of surfing the web, the program places there the constituent parts of the pages (pictures, flash movies, script files, etc.) so that the next time you visit it, it does not waste time on reloading them. The peculiarity of the Opera cache is that files are stored in it under different names, so to view it it is more convenient to use the built-in tools of the browser itself, rather than the operating system file manager.

Step 1
After launching the browser, open its menu and in the "Page" section, find the "Development Tools" subsection. In it, select the "Cache" item, and Opera will load a page with the heading "Cache Content". If you have any of the earlier versions of the browser installed and there is no such item in the menu, enter opera: cache in the address bar and press the Enter key - the result will be the same.

The loaded page contains a table listing the names of the domains whose files are stored in the cache. The column with the name "Cached links" shows the number of saved pages for each domain. The "Preview" and "Show" columns of each row contain links to a detailed view of the cache contents for each domain separately. The "Preview All" and "Show All" links above the table are intended to view the full contents of the repository without dividing files by belonging to a specific domain.

At the beginning of this page there is a set of checkboxes in four columns. By placing labels in them, you can filter the lists of the contents of the cache by file type. True, the types here are represented not by the usual file extensions, but by the codes transmitted in the headers of http requests - for example, image / gif, video / flv, audio / midi, etc. Check the checkboxes of the left column if you want to see only image files in the list. To display only videos, use the checkboxes of the second column. The third column contains codes of sound files. The right column is responsible for displaying text files - pages, scripts, style descriptions, etc.

If you want to view the contents of the Opera cache without using the browser itself, find the location of this store on the "About" page. To download it, open the menu and select the item with this name in the "Help" section. The full path to the required folder is placed opposite the "Cache" inscription in the "Paths" section of this page - copy it, paste it into the address bar of the file manager and press the Enter button.
