During the development of the Microsoft Windows operating system, the needs of various categories of users were considered. So, for people with limited vision in the system there is an opportunity to enlarge the icons and font or use a screen magnifier. The developers have not forgotten about those who are more comfortable working not with their right, but with their left hand.
Instructions
Step 1
For left-handers in the Windows system, it is possible to reassign the mouse buttons by configuring them so that all basic commands are executed by clicking the right mouse button, and the menu opens when clicking the left button. To enable the right mouse button, open the Mouse Properties dialog box.
Step 2
To do this, call the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu. If the Panel is categorized, go to the Printers and Other Hardware category. In the new window, left-click on the "Mouse" icon. In the classic view of the panel, select the desired icon immediately - the required dialog box will open.
Step 3
In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Mouse Buttons" tab. In the section "Button configuration" there is only one field, to the right of which there is a visual display of the current settings. Place a marker in the "Change button assignment" field - the image on the right will change.
Step 4
The new settings take effect immediately, so you will have to confirm them in a new way. Click on the "Apply" button with the right mouse button, close the "Properties: Mouse" window by clicking on the OK button at the bottom of the window or on the X icon in the upper right corner, also with the right mouse button.
Step 5
If you want to set additional settings, adjust the cursor movement speed, the number of lines that the wheel will scroll or enable sticky mouse buttons, set the desired values by moving through the tabs of the "Properties: Mouse" window. In this case, confirm all innovations with the "Apply" button.
Step 6
If you want to open folders and run programs not with a double click, but with a single click, you need to call another properties window. Open any folder on your computer. On the top menu bar, select "Tools" and click on "Folder Options" - a new dialog box will open.
Step 7
Go to the "General" tab in the window that opens and in the "Clicks" section, set a marker in the field opposite the line "Open with one click, select with pointer". Click on the "Apply" button and close the properties window.
