In the Windows operating system, it is possible to customize the mouse buttons according to your preferences and capabilities. The included right button is convenient first of all for left-handers, but for people who have a right hand, such settings are extremely inconvenient and unusual. To disable the right mouse button, you need to perform several actions.
Instructions
Step 1
From the "Start" menu, call "Control Panel". Depending on the settings of a particular computer, the panel may be available immediately or will be located in the "Settings" section. In the window that opens, go to the "Printers and Other Hardware" category and select the "Mouse" icon. If the "Control Panel" has a classic look, click on the desired icon immediately. A new dialog box will open.
Step 2
In the Mouse Properties window, go to the Mouse Buttons tab. In the "Button configuration" section, remove the marker from the field opposite the "Change button assignment" line. The new settings take effect immediately, so activate the following commands with the left mouse button. Click on the "Apply" button at the bottom of the window and the "OK" button (or the X icon) to close the properties window.
Step 3
The "Properties: Mouse" dialog box allows you not only to change the button assignment, but also to configure the device to work in the optimal and comfortable mode for you. If you double-click to open folders and launch applications, set the double-click speed using the slider on the Mouse Buttons tab.
Step 4
To change the appearance of the mouse cursor, go to the Pointers tab. Use the drop-down list to set the type of cursors you like. In the "Wheel" tab, set the number of lines by which the page will move when scrolling the mouse wheel. After setting, click the "Apply" button and close the window.
Step 5
If you want to remove double-clicking to call files and folders, open any folder on your computer. On the top menu bar, from the Tools section, select Folder Options. In the dialog box that opens, go to the "General" tab. In the "Mouse Clicks" section, set the marker next to the "One-click open, select with pointer" timeline. Click the Apply button and close the properties window.
