Layout is a keyboard state configured to enter text in a specific language. In computers of Russian-speaking users, as a rule, two types of layouts are used - English and Russian. Depending on the convenience and level of the user, several methods are used to change the input language.
Instructions
Step 1
Move your cursor over the lower right corner, on the desktop panel. Find the square with the letters “Ru” or “EN” (depending on the current layout, respectively Russian and English). This is the language bar. Click on it with the left mouse button.
Step 2
In the list of languages that appears (by default - Russian and English), select the one you need and click on it with the left mouse button. Make sure that the letters representing the abbreviated name of the language in the language bar have changed. The layout has been changed.
Step 3
Otherwise, the language is changed using the “Ctrl-Shift” or “Alt-Shift” keys (depending on the settings of the language bar). The current layout does not matter, it is only important to press the combination at the same time. After clicking, make sure the language bar has changed. If after pressing the first combination of changes did not occur, use an alternative combination.
Step 4
The keys that allow you to change the keyboard are configured through the "Control Panel" menu. To open the menu, open "Start", then follow the route: "Settings" - "Control Panel". Open the component "Regional and Language Options", then the tab "Languages and Keyboards".
Step 5
In the new Language and Text Input Services context menu, open the Keyboard Switching tab. In the field "Keyboard shortcut …" find and select the line "Switch input language". Click the "Change combination" button below and choose the most convenient from the suggested options. Click “OK” to save the settings. Save the settings before exiting each menu.
