Step 1
If you have purchased a new video card, then connect it to the correct slot on the computer's motherboard. These are usually PCI or PCI Express lanes. Connect a monitor to the desired video output and turn on the computer. Open Device Manager. Most likely, the new graphics card will be identified as "Standard VGA Device". This means that the system was unable to automatically detect the type of video card and install the correct drivers.
Step 2
Visit the website of the manufacturer of this equipment. Download from there the current version of the software required to change the parameters of the video card. Install the downloaded program and restart your computer.
Step 3
Open Device Manager again and see if your video card is detected. Now in the submenu "Video adapters" the model name of the connected video card should be displayed. If you do not know the model of the device, then use the program that automatically selects the necessary files. Download the Sam Drivers utility and run the DIA-drv.exe file.
Step 4
After completing the hardware scan, install the suggested drivers. The required kits will be highlighted with a special symbol. Check the boxes opposite them and click the "Install" button. In the window that opens, select "Typical installation". Reboot your computer after successfully installing the software.
Step 5
Some mobile computers can use two video adapters at once. As a rule, this is an integrated chip and a discrete graphics card. In this case, you need to select software that will ensure the joint operation of these two devices. Find information about installed video adapters on the website of your mobile computer manufacturer. Download the appropriate software from there and install it.
