It is necessary to make a small mix of fragments of songs, for example, when you want to prepare a dance number for a musical medley. Nowadays, when computers are available in almost every home, everyone can do this task. Common sound editing programs will help you create a cuts of songs. It is most convenient to use a multitrack audio editor for this task. There are quite a few of them (Wavelab, Cubase, Adobe Audition, Cool Edit, Audicity). Further consideration will be carried out using the example of the Adobe Audition program, other editors work on a similar principle, so you can choose any.

Instructions
Step 1
First, open in the editor those music files from which you want to cut the future mix. This can be done in the menu item "File" - "Open".
Step 2
Double-clicking on the name of any file in the editor window will take you to the audio track editing window. Here you can listen to the selected track and select the part of it that you want to insert into the future mix. Select it with the left mouse button, and then open the context menu with the right button and select the "Copy to new" item in it. A new one will appear in the list of audio files used in the program, containing the selected fragment of the song.
Step 3
Do the same for all the remaining files.
Step 4
Now press the "Multitrack view" button (located above the audio track image) to switch to multitrack mode. From the left window, drag each of the files containing the song fragments you cut to the right window, placing each of them on a separate track.
Step 5
Now you can move these fragments with the left mouse button, put them in any order relative to each other and listen to the result obtained using the standard buttons "Play", "Stop". You can also adjust the volume for each of the tracks. To do this, to the left of each track there is a small window with the inscription "V 0". By clicking on it with the mouse and moving the pointer up or down, you can increase or decrease the volume of the track.
Step 6
When you finally decide on the order of the songs in your future cut, you will need to save it. To do this, select the "Export" - "Audio" item in the "File" menu and select the save directory, file name and format. The slicing is ready!
