Instructions
Step 1
To install a local scanner, use a regular USB cable. It is usually included in the delivery kit. Connect one end to the back of the scanner and the other to a dedicated USB port on your computer. Turn on both devices (computer and scanner) and wait a while (from a few seconds to a minute) for your operating system to automatically detect the new device.
Step 2
If the operating system cannot detect the scanner, try installing drivers (special programs) on your computer. They should be on the disc, which is usually included in the package. If you do not have such a disk, open the official website of your scanner manufacturer. Drivers are located there in a special section and are available for free download. Download and install them on your computer or laptop and then try connecting the scanner again.
Step 3
This will launch the New Hardware Wizard and you just have to follow its instructions. After he installs the scanner, the computer will need to be restarted for the new equipment to work properly. After rebooting, a shortcut to the new hardware should appear on the desktop.
Step 4
In many organizations, all scanning devices are connected to one networked scanner. In this case, to install the scanner, connect it to the computer with a USB cable. Click the "Start" button on your computer, select the "Control Panel" section and then "Network". A special menu will appear on the monitor screen, select the "Network and Access Control Center" item and the sub-item "View network computers and devices".
Step 5
Find your model in the list of scanners and open the context menu on it (with the right mouse button). In this menu, go to the "Install" section. The "Installation Wizard" will appear on the screen. Follow his instructions, moving from point to point with the "Next" button. At the end of the scanner installation, click the Finish button.
Step 6
To turn on the scanner, just connect it to the power supply and click on the shortcut of this device on the desktop or call the menu "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Scanners and Cameras".
