Metro-2 is one of the few domestic games that have a certain popularity and fame among gamers. An ordinary user may have problems launching the game, which is caused by the not very pleasant StarForce protection system.
Instructions
Step 1
Local "protection against illegal copying" feels comfortable only on Windows XP. When installed on Vista, the program will inform the user about the incompatibility, but this can be easily solved by updating from the StarForceUpdate folder located in the root directory of the game disc. For Windows 7, the situation is somewhat worse: the drivers are not compatible with this OS in any way, you will definitely have to install NoDVD.
Step 2
The licensed version will save you a lot of problems. When you start the game for the first time (of course, after installing it), a window of the protection system will appear in front of you, which will "install itself" and require you to restart your computer. Now, to start the game, you will need to insert the licensed CD into your computer every time. It is worth noting that in order to avoid problems, you need to use a single drive during installation, because the protection system begins to "get confused" in which drive you need to insert the disc for verification.
Step 3
Use crack or NoDVD to disable the security system. This is a small program that is easy to find on the Internet. It is an archive with files that the user needs to download and unpack into the game folder. The downloaded files are copies of the original ones, but with a "cut" protection system, which will no longer bother the user. Do not forget that the use of this kind of "drugs" is illegal if you do not install them on the licensed version of the game for your own purposes (protecting the disc from being erased, for example)
Step 4
The situation is even simpler with the pirated version of the game downloaded from the Internet. The process consists in inserting at least a virtual copy of the game disc into the virtual drive. To do this, you need the latest version of the Daemon Tools program as an emulator and a "game disc" file in.mdf or.iso formats. The advantage of this installation method is that the user does not need to perform additional manipulations with the installed game - most likely it will be installed immediately without any kind of protection and will be happy to run on any OS.
