Some applications require the installation of the Microsoft. NET Framework. In some cases, you can meet a prerequisite, in which the Framework version must be no lower than the one specified in the program characteristics. There are several steps you need to take to determine the version of the platform installed on your computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Select "My Computer" on the desktop, open the drive containing the operating system, select the Windows folder and the Microsoft. NET subfolder. In this directory, open the Framework folder and you can see the platform versions installed on your computer. You can also go to this folder through any other by entering the path C: (or another drive with the system) /WINDOWS/Microsoft. NET/Framework in the address bar.
Step 2
The required information can be obtained in another way. Open Registry Editor. To do this, click on the "Start" button or the Windows key and select the "Run" command from the menu. A new dialog box will open. Enter regedit.exe or simply regedit in a blank line without unnecessary printable characters and press the Enter key or the OK button.
Step 3
If you cannot find the "Run" command in the "Start" menu, right-click on the taskbar and select "Properties" from the context menu. In the window that opens, select the "Start Menu" tab and click on the "Customize" button opposite the "Start Menu" item. In the new window, go to the "Advanced" tab and mark the "Run command" item in the "Start Menu Items" group with a marker. Save your changes.
Step 4
In the Registry Editor window, the installed versions of the Framework can be viewed in several places. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch, select the SOFTWARE and Microsoft. The first time the versions are found in the NETFramework sub-item, but for more information, go down the branch down to the NET Framework Setup sub-item and expand the NDP branch. While in the Registry Editor, be careful not to make any changes to the keys unless you know what exactly you are doing.
Step 5
You can also determine the version of the Framework using special utilities, for example, NetVersionCheck. Install the application on your computer and run it through the VersionCheck.exe file. Wait until the collection of information is complete and see the results obtained in the program window.
