The pdf format is extremely convenient, especially if the text contains a lot of diacritics. Quite often, it becomes necessary to copy a page from a document, while the most common programs for working with this format do not always allow you to do this without problems. Sometimes copying is prohibited by the author of the document, who establishes protection. In other cases, text can be inserted as an image.
Necessary
- - program for reading pdf-format (Adobe Acrobat. FoxReader, etc.)
- - Open Office;
- - Abbyy FineReader.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the document with the program you usually use. The most popular is Adobe Acrobat. It provides a copy function, and it is quite possible that you will not need any more programs. The free FoxReader program has the same function.
Step 2
Find the "Editing" tab in the main menu, and in it - functions of selection and copying. You can also select and copy the desired fragment using the right mouse button.
Step 3
Recent versions of Adobe Acrobat allow you to save your document as text. Save, find the fragment you want and copy. Unfortunately, the txt format does not allow the use of diacritics, so this method is not suitable for working with documents in languages with a lot of diacritics. It will not work even if the text was scanned with a picture.
Step 4
If you fail, try other programs. For example, open a document using the Open Office text editor. This program copes with the pdf format quite successfully, if, again, the page is not a single image.
Step 5
Try Abbyy FineReader. It is better if you have one of the latest versions. Open the file as an image and ask the program to recognize it. In the main menu, find the "Image" tab, and in it - the "Block type" function. Choose what you need. Don't forget to stick out your language. Select "Copy to Clipboard" when saving.
Step 6
Sometimes Abbyy FineReader recognizes such files uncertainly, or even may display a sign "Increase scanning resolution". In this case, if the document is small, it is best to take a screenshot from the computer screen. Just don't forget to set the maximum resolution. Save the picture in a convenient image format, and then drive it into Abbyy FineReader, recognize and copy.
