Installing a new driver for an NVIDIA video card does not always mean solving all graphics problems. It may turn out that programs (for example, games) worked more stable with the old version of the driver. To install an older NVIDIA graphics driver, follow a few steps.
Instructions
Step 1
Before installing an older version of the driver for the NVIDIA video card, decide where you will install it from: download it from the Internet or run the disk that came with the video card. With the installation of the driver from the disk, everything is more or less clear - you just need to insert the disk into the drive and follow the instructions of the installer.
Step 2
If you do not have an installation disc to install an older version of the driver, you must first find it. Go to the NVIDIA official website (https://www.nvidia.ru) and select the "Drivers" section. In the drop-down menu, select the item "Beta and archived drivers", click on the line with the left mouse button
Step 3
In the window that appears, using the lines of the drop-down menu, specify the type, series and family of your video card, and also select the operating system installed on your computer and its language. Click the "Search" button and wait until the list is formed.
Step 4
On the NVIDIA website, select the required driver version from the list provided and click on it with the left mouse button to go to the driver page. Once you have made the transition, review the information on the page and click the Download Now button. Specify the path to save the file, wait for the download to finish.
Step 5
Next, you need to remove the driver that you have installed at the moment. There are several options. You can click on the icon of the file you just downloaded. After completing the collection of information, the installer will notify you that the current version will be removed and will automatically uninstall the driver.
Step 6
Another option involves removing the existing driver yourself. To do this, right-click on the "My Computer" icon from the desktop, select the "Properties" line in the drop-down menu. In the window that opens, go to the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button.
Step 7
Select "Video adapters" from the generated list of equipment. By clicking on a line or clicking on the "+" icon to the left of it, you will see your video card. Double-click on it with the left mouse button (or once with the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item in the drop-down menu). In the window that opens, go to the "Driver" tab and click on the "Remove" button.
Step 8
Confirm the removal of the driver, wait for the computer to restart. After rebooting the system, the desktop will be displayed in limited mode. Run the old version of the driver downloaded from the Internet by clicking on its icon with the left mouse button. Follow the instructions of the installer until the driver installation is complete. Reboot your computer.
