Step 1
If you have forgotten the password for the main or only account, you need to change it or disable it altogether. If you are using Windows XP, start the safe mode of the operating system. To do this, select the appropriate item after restarting your computer.

The user selection menu is practically the same as in the standard mode. The only peculiarity is the presence of a new account named "Administrator". Log in with this account.

Open the "Account Management" menu. Edit the parameters of the required account. You can delete the password for the desired user or change its value. After completing the above procedures, boot to Windows Normal Mode.

The described vulnerability in the system was fixed with the release of new OS versions. We are talking about Windows Vista and Seven products. To disable the password, you must use the installation disk with the files of these systems. Insert the specified disc into the drive.

Turn on your computer. Run the operating system setup program. Open the Advanced Recovery Options menu and select the Command Prompt option.

In the console that opens, enter the regedit command and press the Enter key. Wait for the registry editor to start. Expand the HKEY_Local_Machine directory. Click the File tab and select Unload Hive.
Step 7
In the explorer menu, go to the System32 directory and open the config folder. Find the system file and open it. In the window that appears, enter an arbitrary name for the registry branch.
Step 8
Now double click on the SetupType value. Enter the number 2 and press the Ok button. Then select the CmdLine item and enter the cmd.exe command in the new window. Click the Ok button. Close the editor window and press Enter.
Step 9
Find the newly created folder, select it, and choose Unload Hive from the File menu. Close all active windows and restart your computer.
