Instructions

Step 1

If you have access to the computer administrator account or you can ask a user who belongs to the computer administrators group to log in, then the problem is solved quite simply. Click "Start", open "Control Panel". From the Control Panel, select Accounts and Users. Then on the "Users" tab, select your account name, and then - "Reset Password". Then enter the new password and confirm it. You can now log into your account.

Step 2

If the previous method did not help you or you cannot use it, then you can recover the password to your account using the built-in administrator account. First you need to enter Safe Mode. To do this, immediately after turning on the computer, press the F8 key. Sometimes, instead of F8, other F keys may appear.

Step 3

A menu for selecting options for loading the operating system will open. From this menu select "Safe Mode". Then wait for the operating system to load, which will take longer than usual. At times, it may even seem that the operating system is simply frozen. In fact, this is not the case. The video card driver will not work in safe mode, the graphics may have a slightly distorted appearance. On the desktop, you will see the inscription "Safe Mode".

Step 4

Click Start. Select Control Panel, then User Accounts. Select your account, then - "Change password". Enter a new password, confirm it. You can also leave the password change entry line blank. In this case, the password will simply be removed. You will not need to enter it the next time you log in.

Step 5

Close all active windows and restart your computer. The PC will boot normally and you will be able to log into your account.
