You brought a laptop from England (France, Sweden). Naturally, the operating system installed on it communicates with you in the language of the country where you purchased the laptop. And you would like all menus, button labels, etc. to be in Russian. To do this, Windows 7 and later versions of Windows XP have support for MUI (Multilingual User Interface).
Instructions
Step 1
For example, we will assume that the computer has an English-language system. If the interface is not English, then follow the same algorithm as described below. The item names in the sequence will be different, in the appropriate language. But you can translate the following Russian commands into the language of your computer and look for buttons with similar texts.
Step 2
Go along the following path (in brackets - translations into Russian for clarity, and not exact inscriptions on similar buttons in the Russian version, although they are, of course, similar in meaning). "Start" => "Control Panel" => "Clock, Language, and Region" => "Installation and removal of language mapping interface" deleting the interface language) => "The display language" => "Running Update".
Step 3
In the opened window Windows Update => "Optional Update" select the update language from the list, in our case Russian (Russian). Wait for the installation of the selected language, it may take some time. If Windows says "Reboot is required" at the end of the installation, restart your computer.
Step 4
In the previous two steps, you installed support for the Russian language, now tell the operating system to use it. Follow a similar path: "Start" => "Control Panel" => "Clock, Language, and Region" => "Select Language". Change English to Russian. Reboot your computer.
Step 5
In Windows 7, this problem is solved quite well, and there should be no complications after changing the language. But still keep in mind that for any major system changes, it is advisable to first create a restore point in order to be able to undo all the changes made. How to do this is a separate topic.
