Instructions

Step 1

Windows provides a convenient universal tool for accessing files and folders on your computer - File Explorer. Using Explorer, you can perform any operations to organize information on your computer, including moving and copying.

Step 2

You can open File Explorer by clicking on the My Computer icon on the desktop, or by right-clicking on the Start icon and choosing File Explorer or Open File Explorer. You will see a window with a tree structure of the contents of the computer. By clicking on a disk partition, you will open the folders that are on it. By selecting the folder you need and right-clicking on it, you can select the desired action: copy, cut, delete, rename, etc.

Step 3

To transfer a folder from one hard disk partition to another or send it to a USB flash drive, right-click on the folder and select the "Cut" menu item. After that, in Explorer, find the location on your computer where you want to move the folder, and by right-clicking, select the "Paste" action. The folder will be moved.

Step 4

The same action can be performed using a keyboard shortcut. In order to "cut" a folder from one place, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C, and in order to "paste" this folder in another place, press Ctrl + V.

Step 5

Alternatively, you can move the folder using drag and drop. To do this, open Explorer in two windows, in one of them select the source and in the other the destination folder. Right-click the desired folder and drag it to the desired location on the disk. Release the mouse button and select the "Move" item in the context menu.
