Step 1
Move your desktop to another drive. To do this, click on the "Start" button, select the "Run" command. In the field enter the command Regedit, the system registry window will open. In it, find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / further Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / Shell Folders / Documents and Settings / "Current username" / Desktop. Replace the path to the "Desktop" folder with the one you need. Similarly, change the Desktop parameter in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / further Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / User Shell Folders registry key.
Step 2
Close the registry editor to apply the changes. Next, start the Registry Editor again to move the desktop. Run the command "Edit" - "Find", enter "Desktop" to search, and wherever this entry appears in the format of a folder path, replace your path entered in the first step. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect. Similarly, you can transfer folders "My Documents", "Favorites" and other system objects.
Step 3
Move the desktop to Windows 7. Open the system drive, then the Users folder and the directory that corresponds to the name of your profile in the system. Alternatively, select the profile name under its picture from the main menu. This folder contains all your service directories, including the desktop. Click on the desired object with the right mouse button, select the "Properties" option, go to the "Location" tab.

Create a folder where you want to move your desktop. Click on the "Move" button, in the window specify the path to the created folder. Thus, the desktop, or any other system directory, will be moved to a different location. The path in the properties should change, if it stays the same, change it manually and click Apply. Changes take effect immediately, no system reboot is required.
