Letter (e-mail) notifications are part of the information that Microsoft Office Outlook displays as desktop alerts. In addition to notifications about incoming mail, it is also customary to include data of meeting requests and assignments as notifications.

Instructions
Step 1
Run the Outlook office application included in the Microsoft Office package and open the "Service" menu in the top panel of the program window to perform the operation of disabling notifications, which include notifications about incoming e-mail.
Step 2
Specify the "Options" item and go to the "Settings" tab of the dialog box that opens.
Step 3
Select "Mail Options" and go to the "Advanced Options" node.
Step 4
Uncheck the box next to "Display desktop alert for new emails (by default only for the Inbox)" in the "When a message is received in the Inbox" section and select the desired options in the "Display envelope icon in the notification area" fields. "Beep" and "Temporarily change the view of the pointer."
Step 5
Wait for the notification of incoming e-mails to appear and open the context menu of the message by clicking the down arrow button to alternatively disable notifications for new messages in the Inbox.

Select the "Disable desktop notification about new messages" item to complete the operation.

Go back to the Tools menu in the top toolbar of the Microsoft Outlook window to restore the Desktop New Email Alerts feature and go to Options.
Step 8
Go to the Settings tab of the dialog box that opens and select the Mail Settings section.
Step 9
Expand the Advanced options link and apply the check box next to Display desktop alerts for new emails (by default, inbox only) under When a message arrives in Inbox.
