Instructions

Step 1

Call the "Display" component. This can be done in several ways. The first option: through the "Start" menu, call the "Control Panel". In the Appearance and Themes category, select the Display icon or any of the available assignments. If the "Control Panel" has a classic look, select the component you are looking for right away.

Step 2

Another way is faster. Being on the "Desktop", click in any part of it free of files and folders with the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item in the drop-down menu by clicking on it with the left mouse button. A new "Display Properties" dialog box will open.

Step 3

Go to the "Desktop" tab in the window that opens and click the "Desktop settings" button at the bottom of the window. This command will bring up an additional dialog box "Desktop Elements". Go to the "Web" tab in it.

Step 4

At the bottom of the window, find the inscription "Freeze desktop elements" and remove the marker in the field opposite it. Click on the OK button in the elements window. In the properties window, click on the "Apply" button for the new settings to take effect. Close the "Properties: Display" window by clicking the OK button or the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the window.

Step 5

If your problem is not related to the settings for displaying shortcuts on the "Desktop", but some inexperience in working with the mouse, to deselect the shortcuts, just click on any free space on the "Desktop" or the folder you are in.

Step 6

If your mouse is configured for right-handed use, click with the left mouse button. If you are left-handed and the mouse is configured for left-handedness, right-click. If necessary, you can change the button assignments by calling the Mouse component and opening the Mouse Buttons tab. This component is opened through the "Control Panel".
