Instructions

Step 1

Right-click in any area of the desktop that is free of folders and files. In the drop-down menu, select the "Properties" item by clicking on it with any mouse button - the "Properties: Display" window will open. Another way to invoke the properties dialog is to select the Appearance and Themes section from the Start menu and click the Display icon.

Step 2

In the window that opens, go to the "Design" tab. At the bottom of the window, click on the "Advanced" button - this command will open a new window "Additional design". In this dialog box, in the "Element" section, select the "Icon" item using the drop-down list. In the right part of the window, set the desired icon size using the arrow buttons or enter a new value using the keyboard.

Step 3

Press the OK button in the Additional Appearance window, in the Display Properties window press the Apply button. Wait until the icons on the monitor are reconfigured and click the OK button or the X button in the upper right corner of the window to complete the settings and close the properties window.

Step 4

If you need to make the icons larger, use the other settings option. On the Appearance tab in the Display Properties window, click the Effects button. A new dialog box will open. Place a marker in the box opposite the inscription "Apply large icons", click the OK button to close the effect window, the "Apply" button for the new settings to take effect, and close the properties window.

Step 5

Place the new size icons on the desktop according to your preference. To do this, move the cursor to the desired icon, hold down the left mouse button, move the icon to the selected part of the screen, release the mouse button. When you put things in order, right-click in an empty space on the desktop and select the "Refresh" command from the drop-down menu.
