A "theme" in relation to the Windows operating system is a set of design elements for its graphical interface. Changing such a set leads to a change in the color scheme of application windows, the background image of the desktop, the appearance of cursors and the sound of events. Most OS versions allow the user to independently change themes, including installing additional themes that are not included in the basic installation kit.

Step 1
Connect to the Internet and go to the website of the manufacturer of the Windows operating system, Microsot Corporation. It has a section that contains various elements of the interface design - background images for the desktop ("wallpapers"), gadgets and themes for Windows 7. You will find the corresponding subsections in the section with the laconic name "Download". All content placed in it is available for free download and installation in the operating system without any additional registration or activation procedures. Step 2
The site contains a large number of topics, therefore, to simplify the search, a menu is placed on the main page of the catalog, dividing them into groups - "Nature", "Games", "Holidays and seasons", etc. In addition to dividing by graphic directions, a group of topics in which news feeds are embedded - "Dynamic topics from RSS feeds", is separately highlighted. Using this menu, select the desired OS interface design option. In the general list, each of them is represented by a small thumbnail, and additional information can be obtained by clicking on the "Details" link.
Step 3
Installing themes from the Microsoft website is very simple - click on the Download link, and in the download dialog that appears, click the Open button. There is no need to save the file with the theme in the appropriate folder of the operating system. The OS will recognize it by its extension and will do everything necessary automatically - it will replace the existing design with a new one and place the file in the desired folder.
