OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is a new version of the operating system for Macintosh computers released on July 25, 2012. Compared to the previous version, it has over 200 new features. In addition, Apple, starting with this version, will update its OS annually, whereas before it did it every 2 years.
System requirements for the new OS: operating system OS X 10.6 or OS X 10.7; 2 GB RAM, 8 GB hard drive. Some features of the new OS X 10.8 also require an Internet connection and an Apple ID to function properly.
Siri is a question and answer system designed for iOS 5. It processes natural human speech to answer questions and make recommendations. The application is able to adapt to each specific user and analyze his preferences in the long term. In OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, the Siri application that has appeared is capable of converting dictated text into characters on the screen.
The new OS has tighter integration of the iCloud Internet service. Unlike the old OS, functions for saving notes, documents, calendars and files have now been added. All recordings are automatically synchronized with all user computers and gadgets manufactured by Apple.
The Notification Center sidebar is now available in any application you are using. This panel informs about all the latest events both on the computer and on remote services (e-mail, ISQ messages, etc.)
The iChat instant messaging app has been completely replaced by Messages. Now OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion user will be able to exchange messages for free with all owners of iOS gadgets. Jabber, Yahoo, GTalk and AIM protocols are supported. Messages interface completely copies a similar application for iPad.
There is a new Notes system for creating custom notes. You can insert photos and files into them, send them by email or iCloud. Notes interface is similar to iPad and iPhone apps.
The Reminders system of "reminders" was built in, also similar to the versions for mobile devices.
Share Sheets, a new system for sharing information over the Internet, allows you to quickly send links, photos, documents by mail or on social networks with one click of the Share button.
Twitter is now built into OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion just like it was in iOS 5. When you press the tweet button, a Twitter window appears on the display. In addition, Facebook was built into the new system. Including added a button designed to quickly post a status on this social network.
