Step 1
If you are simply pulling it out of the USB port when removing a flash drive from your computer, you are making a serious mistake. At first, you may not notice any negative consequences, however, if you systematically remove the flash drive from the PC in this way, you will observe the loss of files recorded on the device, as well as incorrect work with them. In order not to harm the documents recorded on the flash card, it must be removed properly.
Step 2
Before you remove the flash drive from the USB port, make sure that none of the files written to the device are in use by the system. If you are listening to music from a flash drive, close the player, but if you are working on certain files, quit working with applications that use the resources of the flash card. However, do not rush to remove the USB flash drive immediately after you have stopped working with all files and applications. During its activity, the flash card creates certain processes that cannot be completed by closing any program window. Their correct completion and subsequent removal of the flash drive must be performed as follows.
Step 3
Find the device shortcut on the taskbar, which should be next to the time display window. Click on the shortcut with the right mouse button and wait for the menu to appear. In the window that opens, click on the "Remove device" item. After waiting for the notification that the flash card can be removed from the computer, you can safely remove it from the USB port. By removing the flash drive in this way, you save its working life much longer than by simply disconnecting the card from the PC.
