The appearance of a message about the inability to find hard drives on the computer, which appears during the installation of the operating system, may be caused by the lack of necessary drivers for the used volume controller in the distribution.

Instructions

Step 1

Wait for the welcome message at the very beginning of the installation of the operating system and carefully watch the bottom of the screen so as not to miss the suggestion "Press F6 to install the driver for SCSI or RAID device". Please note that this sentence only appears for a few seconds. Take the required action. Then the installer will work in standard mode until the prompt appears on the screen to install the required drivers.

Step 2

Use the function key S and insert the driver disc into the drive. Since many recent computers do not have a built-in floppy disk drive, it is recommended that you use a plug-in USB-FDD drive or create your own installation disc with installation files and necessary drivers first.

Step 3

Confirm the selected action by pressing the Enter softkey and point to the selected controller using the arrow keys. Authorize the installation by pressing Enter and wait for the process to complete automatically.

Step 4

Make sure the onboard RAID chipset is disabled in the BIOS (if you have one SATA drive and an Intel chipset with RAID technology or nVidia nForce3 / 4). To do this, select the Enhanced option in the SATA Mode menu in BIOS mode (for Intel boards) or Disabled in the IDE / SATA RAID Function menu (for boards with nVidia chipsets). Please note that the SATA drive must be connected to the chipset RAID controller, not the one on the board. In this case, the installation of Windows OS can be carried out without using disks with the necessary drivers.

Step 5

Create your own floppy disk (if necessary) with the required drivers by copying them from the installation disk. Place them on the root partition of the volume and make sure the txtsetup.oem file is present.
