Most of the operations on a Windows computer are carried out with a mouse. However, many of them can be done on the keyboard using special button combinations and navigation keys.
Instructions
Step 1
If your operating system is Windows 7 or Vista, press the key combination alt="Image" + Shift + NumLock. This will trigger keyboard cursor control. A beep will sound, after which it will be possible to move the cursor using the keys on the numeric keypad.
Step 2
Consider the numeric keypad. On the keys, in addition to numbers, there are arrows. Using them, you can move the cursor vertically and horizontally. Diagonal movement is carried out using the keys 7 left and up), 1 (left and down), 3 (right and down) and 9 (right and up). The left mouse button click is replaced by pressing the number 5 key.
Step 3
To increase the travel speed, change the appropriate settings. Open the control panel. Press the combination alt="Image" + Shift + NumLock again. In the window that appears, select the "parameters" item. On the "mouse" tab, select click on the setting button and adjust the speed of the cursor.
Step 4
Use other hot keys to control your computer as efficiently as possible without a mouse. Switch between open windows using the Alt + Tab and Alt + Shift + Tab combinations (move in the opposite direction). You can also use Alt + Esc and Alt + Shift + Esc to perform this action.
Step 5
Press Alt + F4 to close the active window. With the same key combination, you can activate the exit from Windows if all active windows are already closed.
Step 6
Use the Win key to work with windows. The combination Win + E opens the "My Computer" folder. The combination Win + M minimizes all windows, and Win + Shift + M maximizes them.
Step 7
When working with text, you can use the Ctrl + X combination to cut the selection. It can be copied using the Ctrl + C keys and pasted using the Ctrl + V shortcut. You can select a piece of text using the Shift key and the arrow buttons. The combination Ctrl + Z will help to undo the erroneous action.
