Using the free graphics editor Paint.net, you can create collages, edit photos and cut objects from a picture. There are several ways to remove the background of an image.
Instructions
Step 1
Start Paint.net. From the File menu, click Open and specify the path to the image. If you have chosen a picture with a uniform background, then it is convenient to use the "Magic Wand" tool. Click its icon in the toolbar or press S on your keyboard.
Step 2
On the property bar, set the stick sensitivity. The higher the sensitivity, the lower the selectivity of this instrument. Those. at 100% sensitivity you will highlight the whole picture with fine details. At 5% sensitivity, a very small area will be highlighted. Set the appropriate value for this parameter and click on the background. A portion of the image will be outlined with a dashed line.
Step 3
Press Delete to delete the selected area. The background in this place will become transparent. Click on the area of the other shade that you want to remove, and press Delete again.
Step 4
You can do it differently. On the property bar, open the Selection Mode list box and check Add (Combine). Click in turn on the fragments of the image that you want to delete, then press Delete - the selected areas will be deleted immediately.
Step 5
If the background is colorful, you can use the Eraser tool. Click the corresponding icon on the toolbar or the letter E on your keyboard. On the property bar, specify the diameter of the eraser. If you need to feather the border of the deleted fragment, select "Smoothing Allowed" in the list to the right of the "Width" box.
Step 6
Remove the background with an eraser, if necessary, change the width of the tool. Use the Magic Wand to remove small fragments.
Step 7
If you want to create your own picture with a transparent background, choose the New command from the File menu and double-click the Background layer in the Layers panel. In the new window, uncheck the box next to "Visible".
