But before you take the scanner to an office equipment repair shop, it is worth checking a few things yourself to waste your money.

1. First, check if the network cable is connected to the scanner, and if it turns on. The corresponding indicators on the front panel should work, and the glass table on which we place the sheets to obtain an image should be illuminated. By the way, some models of scanners must be additionally turned on with a special switch on the body.

Helpful hint: if all the wires are connected correctly and tightly, but the scanner still does not turn on or the computer does not detect it, you may suspect a problem with the wires. Examine the power cable and data cable for fractures, pet damage.

2. Also, the scanner may not turn on due to a failed power supply (many models of scanners are connected to the network using a power supply like cell phones). Try to take another power supply with the required specifications and connect it to the scanner.

3. Check and connect the scanner to the computer. The wire connecting these two devices must be tightly connected to the connectors, not loose or fall out.

4. If this is the first time you connected the scanner to your computer, you need to install the device driver. Usually the driver is on the CD that comes with the device, or you can find it on the Internet.

5. If the driver has already been installed, the scanner turns on, but does not scan, it can be assumed that the driver has crashed. In this case, restart the computer and the scanner, reinstall the driver, after removing the old one. Please note that if you have updated the OS (installed a newer version), the driver will also need to be updated. You may also need to update the software with which you receive the image.

By the way, if you are sure that the scanner should work, test it by connecting it to another computer.
