Today, almost every family has a printer, because it is necessary to prepare reports for the child for school, and it is more convenient to print knitting patterns, rather than read them from a computer screen. If you are self-employed, you simply cannot do without a printer, because government agencies often simply will not accept handwritten documents. This is why when the printer stops printing, it becomes a huge problem.
Sometimes you can fix this problem yourself. Let's figure out in which case the printer does not have to be carried to the workshop.
Check if your printer is plugged in. Yes, it happens - the printer was rearranged or it was simply necessary to free the outlet for another device, but the printer can be trivially disconnected from the mains. After that, check whether the printer itself is turned on (very many models should not only be plugged into the outlet, but also brought to a ready state by a special switch on the case). If the printer is plugged in and turned on, it should make some noise and then be silent again (self-test).
Check if the printer is connected to the computer with a special cord. By the way, if the cord is not fully inserted on one side (there is no full contact of the connectors), the printer will not print.
The printer may freeze. In this case, turn off the printer, unplug the power cord and wait at least a minute. Then turn on the device and try to print the document.
Check to see if you are sending the print job to the correct printer. Your printer should be set as default by default. You can check this in the OS settings.
The printer may not print because ink (toner) has run out. In this case, of course, you need to buy a new cartridge or take the existing one to refuel. By the way, there are refueling kits on sale, with which you can handle refueling some models of cartridges yourself.
The printer does not print and when the drivers are not installed or "crashed" (a special program that controls the operation of this useful device). The driver is on the CD that comes with every new printer, so you can reinstall the software yourself. Also, drivers can be found on the Internet.
