Some words have similar meanings, such as screenshot and snapshot.
The word screenshot literally means "screenshot". You can use a screenshot in different situations. For example, you came up with a new theme for the operating system interface and want to brag about it on the forum, you pumped up your character, earned a lot of points and made a huge explosion, and now you want to tell other players about it, or you have a software malfunction and you need to explain specialist, what exactly is the problem.
To take such a picture, you can press the special Print Screen (or Prt Scr) key, it is located near the F12 button. The image is instantly loaded to the clipboard. Then you can open any graphics editor, create a new document and simply select the "Paste" command. With a standard Windows installation, you have a preinstalled graphic editor Paint. If you are using another program, for example, Photoshop, you need to specify the size of the future document, it must match the resolution of your screen, otherwise you will have to resize the image, which may degrade its quality.
If you do not need to take a screenshot of the entire work area, you can press the key combination alt="Image" + Print Screen. Then only a snapshot of the active window will be taken.
Perhaps the standard function will not be enough for you, then on the Internet you can search for specialized programs to be able to take screenshots of a screen or a given area. For example, this can be: Free Screen Video Recorder, Screenshot Captor, WinSnap, Any Capture Screen, HyperSnap DX and others. Some of them contain video and sound recording functions, image editing, adding inscriptions and notes.
Snapshot is often used synonymously with screenshot. However, there is a slight difference. The snapshot reflects the state of the program at the moment. In some video players, this command refers to a freeze frame. By the way, it should be noted that in most players it is impossible to take a picture using Print Screen. In working with virtual machines, the term snapshot is used to mean the capture of the current state. That is, as a save point that captures changes to the car in the future.
