Many programs have different versions of the assembly - early, late, some are released to fix the errors of the previous ones, some just as an updated version. You need to know the build information to identify computer problems, install plugins, and so on.
Instructions
Step 1
To find out which version of the Windows operating system assembly is installed on your computer, open the start menu and select Run. A small window will appear on the screen, enter the command “winver” in an empty line without quotes and press Enter. After that, the screen should display the information you are interested in. This command is relevant for Windows XP, Vista and Seven.
Step 2
If you want to find out the version of a program installed on your computer, open the configuration settings window and look for "System Information" or a similar menu item. Not to be confused with the Help menu, this is quite different. Also pay attention to the program download window, in some of them the assembly version is written right on the screen when you open it.
Step 3
Look at the build version of the program on the site from where you usually download the software. Also go to the site of the program developer and see if there is an item in the resource menu for determining the assembly of the program installed on your computer.
Step 4
Take a look at the software installation file. Perhaps its name contains the information you are interested in.
Step 5
Download and install a special utility that displays all software installed on your computer along with full information about it. Please note that many of them have advanced functionality that will be convenient for you to access other information.
Step 6
Open the computer control panel from the start menu. Find the item "Add or Remove Programs". A large window will appear on your screen with a complete list of the installed software, in some cases the assembly version is indicated there in the name of the application.
Step 7
If you want to know the build version of the operating system for the PDA, open the system information in the control panel.
