Inkjet printers have one not very convenient feature compared to laser printers. If they are not used for a long time, the printheads dry out and printing is no longer possible. This is not a reason to take your printer to a landfill. The print head can be soaked in a service center or at home.

Necessary

  • - liquid for washing glasses;
  • - cotton wool;
  • - disposable syringes for 10-20 ml;
  • - paper napkins;
  • - plastic mold with a tight-fitting lid.

Instructions

Step 1

Go to a hardware store and get a glass cleaner that contains ammonia. Purchase cotton wool, disposable 10-20 ml syringes and paper napkins at the pharmacy. You will also need a plastic mold with a tight-fitting lid. It could be a food pail. Get it at any supermarket. All this is needed to soak the head of your printer.

Step 2

Remove the printhead from the printer carriage and remove old ink residues from it. For these purposes, use toilet paper or napkins. You need to clean until the ink marks stop appearing on the paper. Then take a new cloth and blot it in glass cleaner. Use this paper to wipe the print head of the printer. Try not to press.

Step 3

Take the syringe. Fill it with the same liquid and, at some distance from the head, rinse hard-to-reach places where there is still ink. After that, wipe the head again with a cloth soaked in window cleaner. If the head itself has removable cartridges, close the intake nipples with cotton wool, having previously moistened it in liquid.

Step 4

Take a plastic container to soak the printer head. Place the head in the container with the nozzles down and fill it with warm glass-washing liquid. The liquid level should be several mm higher than the level of the head nozzles. Place the lid on the container. Leave it for a day.

Step 5

Open the form. Remove the printheads. Repeat all the steps above again. Place the heads again in the liquid for a day. After that, check the printheads for readiness - run over them with a clean dry cloth. If there is no ink left, the heads are soaked and ready to use. Remove dust from them. Remove the cotton wool from the intake fittings. Refill the cartridge and install it in the printer.
