Cartridges in HP inkjet printers dry up after extended periods of inactivity. As a result, it becomes necessary to replace them with new ones. However, do not rush, you can try to fix this nuisance. To do this, it is enough just to soak the cartridge using several methods that, most likely, will help restore it to its previous performance.

Necessary

  • - clean, lint-free napkins;
  • - flushing liquid;
  • - special composition for soaking;
  • - a syringe with a rubber adapter;
  • - shallow container;
  • - warm boiled water.

Instructions

Step 1

You can soak a dried cartridge using the piercing method. Remove it from the printer and place it on a tissue paper, nozzles up. Take a medical syringe with a needle and, having filled it with flushing liquid, drip a little on and around the nozzle pad so as not to touch the surface of the cartridge. Wait for the dried ink to soak and blot gently with a dry cloth.

Step 2

After that, once again drop the flushing liquid onto the nozzles so that a hemisphere is formed on their surface, and leave for a while. The nozzles should absorb liquid. As soon as the amount starts to decrease, add a little more liquid. Take a napkin again and blot the surface of the nozzles with it. After this drying, repeat the application of the liquid and make sure that the cartridge absorbs at least 1-2 cubes. Wait for the print head to dry.

Step 3

Soaking with a special compound. For HP cartridges, this solution is well suited: 10% alcohol, 10% acetic acid essence and 80% distilled water. Take a clean, lint-free cloth, pour the mixture well over it and place the dried cartridge on it, nozzles down. If the container of the cartridge is empty, you can pour the liquid inside or place the cartridge in the solution as a whole and leave it for a couple of days. At the end of the soak, blow in both directions using a syringe with a rubber adapter.

Step 4

If the cartridge is slightly dry, pour some boiled warm water into a shallow container and place it there for a few hours, nozzles down. It is very important that only the nozzles of the cartridge are in the water. Then blot the surface of the nozzles with a clean cloth and see if ink marks remain on it. If not, repeat the procedure again. Water can be replaced with alcohol - it evaporates well and can soften the ink that has dried inside.
