Step 1
Check the performance and stability of the installed RAM cards. You can use the MemTest program, but if you have no desire to search and install this utility, then use the Windows tools. Open the Administrative Tools menu located in the control panel of your computer. Run the "Windows Memory Check" shortcut.
Step 2
Restart the computer and wait until the analysis of the state of the RAM cards is completed. Now open the BIOS menu by pressing the Delete key after turning on the computer. Go to the System Configuration or Advanced Chipset Setup menu. Select the method of changing the frequency of the RAM strips. Better to change the bus frequency, because changing the multiplier will give a sharp jump in performance.
Step 3
Increase the RAM bus speed a little. Increase the voltage applied to the RAM cards. This will help to avoid an emergency shutdown of the computer when there is a heavy load on the RAM cards. Save changes to BIOS menu options by pressing F10. Wait for the loading of the operating system to complete.
Step 4
Check the condition of the RAM strips again. Pay special attention to the performance gains and the presence (absence) of errors. If the test showed excellent results, then repeat the procedure for increasing the frequency of the RAM. Be sure to increase the voltage periodically.
Step 5
If at some point the computer stops booting, then disassemble the case of the system unit and remove the BIOS battery. Install it in the nest after 10-15 minutes. Set the last good value of the RAM bus frequency to avoid problems in its operation. If you decide to increase the multiplier, then first reduce the bus frequency.
