Files with the DLL extension are used by the Windows operating system as data libraries, which are accessed by programs to find a particular function required to execute them. Such documents are very important - in the absence of this or that library file, various system failures may occur and it will become impossible to launch some utilities.
Instructions
Step 1
The DLL files must be located in the System32 folder. All programs that need to use the library refer to this folder. Applications typically return an error if the file is missing.
Step 2
The directory can be found by the user in the system on his own and all files available in it can be deleted or modified. Go to "Start" - "Computer" - "Local drive C:". In the list of folders that appears, select Windows, and then scroll the mouse wheel until you see the System32 directory.
Step 3
Paste the library file into the folder. To do this, right-click on the DLL file from your directory, and then select the "Copy" operation in the appeared context menu. After that, go back to System32 and insert the library by clicking again with the right mouse button on a free area in the directory and selecting the "Insert" option.
Step 4
Errors concerning these DLL files occur when the program being launched cannot find the library file in the directory mentioned above. To find the missing file, you can use the Internet Dll-files database. Go to this site using your browser.
Step 5
In the central part of the page, indicate the name of the file, the absence of which the program being launched refers to. Enter the name of the library in the search bar and press Enter. Among the results obtained, select the document that suits you by the name and version of the operating system. Click on the Download ZIP-file button and wait for the operation to complete.
Step 6
Unzip the resulting document using an archiving program. To do this, right-click on the resulting archive and select "Extract to current folder". Then move the DLL to the System32 directory as described above and try to run the required utility again. If the selected file has been loaded correctly, the program you need will start.
