The versions of games, like any other software, are regularly updated. There are several ways to rollback the implementation of changes to the program version, however, in some cases it is impossible to do it.

Instructions

Step 1

Check to see if you have made a backup of the previous configuration of the program or game that you want to rollback. Create a restore point, and then roll back the system to the date when the correct version of the software was installed on your computer. If that doesn't work, restore to the last point you created.

Step 2

Search for utilities to roll back changes to versions of the game or programs, usually they are available on the Internet in the form of a patch. After downloading the utility, check the contents of the archive for viruses, then select the directory for the update files and perform the Patch action. Just in case, before using such programs, it is also better to save the operating system configuration.

Step 3

Roll back the software version by reinstalling the new version of the program to the old one. Pre-save all user data, configuration settings, walkthrough files, etc. to a separate folder on your computer.

Step 4

After that, remove the program from the list of installed ones; if necessary, also clear the registry of entries. Install the old version of the program, run it to create system directories, then close. Copy the files back to the locations from which they were previously copied using a different version.

Step 5

Please note that in some cases, certain software conflicts may arise, in particular, this applies to the use of files created by a later version of the program.

Step 6

If you want to roll back the Service Pack for Windows update that is included in the distribution kit of the operating system you are using, use reinstallation - in this case, a separate rollback of changes does not work.
