Optical discs are one of the most convenient storage media. Currently, the most popular of these are DVDs. Their capacity is much larger than a CD. But recording information on discs also has its own nuances.
Necessary
- - DVD-R disc;
- - Nero Startsmart program.
Instructions
Step 1
There are optical disc formats on which you can record information multiple times. These are CD-RW and DVD-RW formats. Such optical discs can be rewritten many times. CD-R and DVD-R disc formats are write-once only. But if you have a DVD-R disc on which there is still a lot of space, you can simply add information if multisession was enabled during the previous recording (enabled by default).
Step 2
In order to add information to DVD-R, you need Nero Startsmart software. Download it and install it. Run the program, after which an arrow will appear at the top of its window. Click on it and select the format of the disks with which you will work. If only the CD format is installed there, click on the arrow and select CD / DVD.
Step 3
In the program menu, click on the "Favorites" tab. Now in the program window select the function "Create data DVD". A window will appear where you can add files for recording. At the bottom there is a bar that shows information about the amount of free space on the disk.
Step 4
On the right side of the program window there is an "Add" button. Click on it and a browse window will appear. Select the files that you need to add to the disk. Watch the strip below. It should not exceed the red mark, otherwise you simply will not be able to write the selected files to disk. When all files are added, click Next.
Step 5
In the next window, you do not need to change any parameters. Leave everything as default. Click Next and start recording. When the burning process is complete, a dialog box will appear notifying you that the disc was burned successfully. You can add information until the disk runs out of free space.
Step 6
If at the beginning of burning a disc a dialog box appears with an error or you are asked to insert a blank disc, then multisession has not been used for your DVD-R before. This means that it is impossible to add information to this disk.
