Sometimes, for some reason, files of various programs are damaged, which means that they are not available for use. If you urgently need a file, but it turned out to be damaged, and it is impossible to open it, do not rush to delete the file. There are several ways to restore the file to work and restore lost information, regardless of the format - you can restore audio and video files, office documents, archives, and much more.

Step 1
To repair a damaged video file, use the Video Fixer program, which recognizes various video formats and restores the video recording performance. Using the more versatile All Media Fixer, you can recover both video files and audio recordings of different formats.
Step 2
The interface of these programs is simple and does not require additional configuration. All you need is to run a program that will check the selected file and try to restore it. Before restoring, back up the file in case the repair fails.

You can also fix video files with Virtual Dub if they are damaged or under-downloaded. Open the file in the program and check the Popup Extended Open Options item. In the Import Options window, check the Re-derive Keyframe Flags checkbox.
Step 4
After processing the file, go to the video menu, and then to the audio menu - in both menus, select the Direct Stream Copy section. Save the recovered file in AVI format.

If you encounter an inability to play an MP3 file, use Ashampoo MP3 Check & Convert. The program removes damaged fragments while maintaining the functionality of the remaining parts of the file.
